Is a fitness wallsit good for your knees?

While taking this fitness photo, I realised that a wallsit hurt my knees a little. I am not sure if there is proven medical statement that it could damage a knee in certain cases, but I will be hesitant doing this exercise in the future. The are just enough other workouts which are just fine for getting the body muscles in shape.
